oceanseventy are pleased to have recently completed an A4 brochure with accompanying press adverts for our client Scottish Enterprise.
The Equality Matters in Business campaign encourages to help create a more profitable business environment by implementing diversity policies in the workplace.
Fact: Did you know that Women now make up nearly half of the UK Workforce, and that by 2025, half the adult population in the UK will be aged 50 or older.
The ads were aimed at employers, to inform them of the benefits they would get from a wider choice of potential employees with a broad range of skills & creativity.
The models in the photo shoot were chosen to show the broad range of employees and the images were used throughout the brochure and the press advertisements that appeared in local and national publications.
My latest design book purchase has been Young European Graphic Designers, published by daab, 2007.
This book illustrates a broad overview on designs from contemporary European Graphic Designers. The designers being showcased incorporate elements of various disciplines, including typography, photography, illustration and printed art into their projects. As a whole they show an exciting creativity.
There is only 2 or 3 items in the entire 384 pages of this book I have seen before. I found this book very fresh and a great resource for different and sometimes unusual ideas on typography, illustration and colour.
Not only have I enjoyed this book, it has introduced me to daab publishers, who I have learnt have a great selection on graphic design, fashion and photography books I will now look out for in the future.
As part of the redevelopment of the Olympian Furniture website we've popped up a little holding page to keep everyone informed of what's going on in store while the main site is redeveloped.
Head on over and sign up to the newsletter.
We are loving www.colourlovers.com. Search using any key word and up pops as many colours as a half sooked jawbreaker.
We're also loving www.veer.com
Great site for type, illustration, photography and if you live Stateside great merchandise

We're always on the lookout for well-cut typefaces to use in our work, and this month it has been hard to ignore the beautiful new Archer face from the Hoefler & Frere-Jones foundry.
It's nine weights make it a versatile addition to the designers toolkit and it's friendly modernity make it a top choice for cutting edge print and digital work that needs to evoke a strong impression.

Well... the guys who run such luminary CSS Design sites as Best Web Gallery, Web Creme, CSS Mania, Daily Slurp and a plethora of other certainly seemed to approve of our redesign.
Luckily though we're not resting on our laurels and have a bunch of new features and additions ready to role out soon and we hope to make this site even better.
Btw... is it too late to say Happy New Year? Yeah.. thought so...
It's a little pat on the back we must admit but we're pretty excited about being listed as one of the Top 100 agencies outside of London 2008. In the independently researched listing by The Drum oceanseventy ranked an 84th place against agencies outside of London.
With 1000s of agencies competing in the market, it’s no mean feat to achieve a place on the Top 100 list. The listing criteria were based on a wide range of data including turnover and gross profit. We were also placed 9th in the top 10 listing based on Gross Profit percentage growth and achieved an 8th place in the design category.
So a big pat on the back for the team!
